Melbourne Winter Swim Series - NEW!!
A 6-week series from June 8 - July 13. Enter the whole series or individual events.
Located at St Kilda beach, the Melbourne Winter Swim series gives you the opportunity to test yourself in the cooler waters of winter.
Race or just complete certain distances to see how you are acclimatising to the water temperature.
*Expected water temperature: 10 - 12 Degrees Celsius*
Handicap Race Prizes
At the final event we will hold a handicap race based on your times during the previous events and there will be prizes on offer.
Your Challenge choices
Splash - best for first timers and non-swimmers
500m - best for novice swimmers
1000m - best for good swimmers with some winter swimming experience
1500m - recommended for experienced swimmers
Acclimatisation to the cold
We strongly encourage all swimmers to make sure they are acclimatised to swimming in cold water - especially if you are not going to use a wetsuit
> What: Race or just test yourself for a distance (500, 1000, 1500, 2000)
> Event Dates: Saturdays - June 8, 15, 22, 29 July 6 & 13
> Location: St Kilda Beach (out the front of South Pacific Health Club)
> Times: 8am meeting for an 8.20am sharp start!
> Cost: $180 (for all 6 dates) OR $45 per event

**Please note that we encourage you to try and swim without wetsuits but want you to be safe
How to prepare for the swim
If you have not done any winter swimming, make sure you start getting into the bay now. Remember that you can do a different distance each week so start with what you are comfortable with.
Post swim warm-up
After the swim, you can warm up in the hot pool and steam-room at the South Pacific Health Club. This will ensure that you feel good at the completion of the event and that you can enjoy the rest of your day.
